So the kids went back to school today after a fantastic Christmas and New Year. One of the festive highlights for us as a family was the trip we made with friends to Disneyland Paris. We’ve been once before and couldn’t wait to go back as we do love a bit of Disney magic. But it’s not photos of fairytale princesses I want to share with you today. Instead it’s all about the ice.
The minute we got came out of the Eurotunnel I was amazed by just how icy it was. Looking at all the beautiful trees definitely made the long drive between Calais and Paris more scenic.
And Disneyland itself was no warmer. There was just ice covering everything. It was hard to believe it hadn’t been snowing everywhere was so white. In fact it didn’t actually snow until our last day when the temperature warmed up and the ice melted which seemed to prove the old “too cold to snow” saying.
So whilst we did spend a few days wrapped up in all the clothes we could physically wear, the cold weather definitely didn’t spoil our Disney experience. And in amongst the Mickey Mouse photos I even managed to snap a few icy shots which I hope will remind me just how beautiful the winter can be.
